The goal of this website is to improve my photography. As I improve,, my gallery will change and evolve. I wanted a place to honor the photos which were inevitably bumped . In this collect, we’ll review photos bumped off of my all-time top five list.

Final touches to Bun Thit Nuong
This is probably one of the first intentional photographs I’ve taken. In the past, most of the photographs I candidly took were to capture memories, rather than to cultivate my photography skills. Below is the original text
This is a photo that combines my wife’s love of cooking with my love of photography. Bún Thịt Nướng is a traditional Vietnamese dish. It is a rice-noodle dish, topped with grilled pork and accented with fragrant herbs such as basil and mint. These ingredients make it a colorful dish and helped my understand how to compose food stills. I’ve never really shot other food in the same way since this photography – but I’m really interested in recreating that interesting look.
This was shot using my E-M5 II & the Olympus 12-40mm. A Godox flash was used and the light was bounced off the ceiling.

Cheers to the Start of Summer

I think seeing the two photos side by side reveals a really important aspect of black-and-white photography: it removes some of the most distracting elements from a colored photo to put more emphasis on the subject. In this photo, I noticed the lighting can be distracting due to the purple tinting (thought it was how I perceived that evening).
Composition wise, I really like how the people in the background add to the business of the downtown nightlife which really helps to emphasize my friend as the subject.
